In person programming is BACK ……

Play, Learn & Storytime – Elgin, Delta, Portland, and Newboro – Families can drop-in with children age birth to six are welcome to drop by the Elgin Branch, Delta Branch, Portland Branch, and Newboro Branch, for free play & literacy activities.

Baby Songs & Rhymes with Library Laura Lee –  Parents/caregivers are invited to drop-in with their child birth to 15 months for 45 mins of songs & rhymes with your babies promoting early literacy skills. Wednesday at 10:00 am at the Elgin Branch.

TD Summer Reading Club

When summertime hits, you can sign up for the TD Summer Reading Club at any Rideau Lakes Public Library  branch! Pick up your free stickers, activity booklet, fortune teller and great books with summer adventures waiting for you…

The TD Summer Reading Club website launches on June 13, 2022. Kids can:

  • Create an online notebook
  • Read ebooks
  • Vote in the Battle of the Books
  • Review books
  • Participate in weekly trivia
  • Write stories
  • Read and write jokes
  • Read an original web comic
  • View author/illustrator readings and workshops
  • Print colouring sheets
  • Find the perfect book

After school Kids Club – Elgin

Enjoy your summer and watch for Start-up date in September.

This free program is open to kids ages 7 to 12 (grades 1 to 6) runs most Mondays. The After School program offers a variety of activities promoting social and development skills.

Light snacks will be served so please let Laura Lee know if you have any food concerns.

Club meets most Mondays from 3:45 to 5:15 p.m. but follows the school calendar with holidays and bus cancellations.

We have a DIE CUT STATION at our Elgin Branch. Make art & crafts, puppets, kids learning tools, scrapbooking and more. We have many die cuts to choose from such as letters, numbers, nature, seasonal, animals, shapes and celebrations. You need to bring your own materials (BYOM)

Materials you can use: Paper, Cardstock, Foam, Fabric, Felt
