June 21 is National Indigenous Peoples Day and June is National Indigenous History Month. Every day can offer a chance to listen and learn from Indigenous voices. Visit our new and noteworthy page for book suggestions or ask staff for recommendations for curbside pick-up at your local branch. Many of theses books discuss and reflect on the truth and impacts of the residential school system. We have started a hearts memorial at our main branch in Elgin to honour and respect the 215 children whose remains were discovered at the Kamloops residential school.
