Meet the Staff

Our staff of library professionals are committed to providing excellent service.

Christine Row, CEO.  «

Christine, a graduate of Saint Vincent University in Public Relations has worked for us since 2005. She recently completed her MLIS at Syracuse University and is currently working as CEO since January 2016.  Her background includes eight years working in marketing and property assessment before she moved to Rideau Lakes.

Donna Penney, Head of Technical Services.  « »
Donna, a graduate of Algonquin College , has worked for the library since 1995. She looks after all the finances,manages interlibrary loan and oversees the cataloging and processing of the books. Donna is also our building person who over the years has helped with the planning and decor of several library changes.

Joan Cochrane, Head of Circulation.
Joan, who qualified as a nurse originally, began working in our South Elmsley branch in 2000 and became Head of Circulation five years ago. Besides working in four branches, she is our expert on the circulation end of the library database and oversees all circulation staff and student pages. She also holds provincial certification in Small Library Management.

Vicki Stevenson, Programs, Outreach and Circulation.  « »
Vicki, who has a Bachelor of Science from Trent University and her certification in Small Library Management has worked for us since 2002. Her experience includes work as a biologist, natural museum coordinator, nursery school teacher and a part-time position research for international children's media productions. She carries out all of our programming for children and adults as well as technical services.

Liz Priebe.
Liz, before she moved to the area, had many years of experience working for municipal government in Ottawa. As well as being the library staff member in Delta since 2000, she also works full-time for KEYS, the local employment information center providing a valuable link with the wider community.

Elva McCann.
Elva had a long career as a local elementary school teacher before she joined the staff of Rideau Lakes in 1998. Her experience as a school librarian is very useful to the library as she catalogers all the juvenile easy readers, picture books and fiction.

Jamie Gipson.
Jamie is a recent graduate of the Library Technician course at Algonquin College in Ottawa. She started with the library as a summer student and has worked part-time for us for the last three years. Jamie is also currently studying accounting.

Betty-Ann Nolan-Steacy.
Betty-Ann, a recently retired secondary teacher with 31 years experience, has a background in guidance and special education. She works at the South Elmsley Branch as well as filling in at other branches as required.

Ann Muldoon.
Anne, a recently retired elementary school teacher with 30 years of teaching has written a children’s book as well as served as a trustee on the Smiths Falls Library Board. In 2007, she was nominated as Provincial Teacher of the Year. Anne works in our South Elmsley Branch on alternative Saturdays.

We also have an occasional staff of three as well as a student page and on occasion summer students and Community Access interns.
